A highway memorial sign was unveiled on M-60 in Jackson County May 30, 2021 honoring Army Sgt. Matthew R. Soper, who was killed June 6, 2007 in Baji, Iraq. Soper was a member of the Michigan Army National Guard's 1461st Transportation Company in Jackson, Michigan.
