The three Hechler brothers: Isadore, Benjamin, and Marcus, one World War II Veteran and two Korean War Veterans, entertained Traverse City news anchor, Charlie Tinker from Channel 9 & 10 who served as a ‘Veteran Guardian’ during the Sept. 26, 2018, Mid-Michigan Honor Flight that escorted the veterans to Washington D.C. to view War Memorials. Tinker volunteered as a Guardian after having been a part of a media crew from a previous flight. Tinker was joined in the Guardian role by two female Veterans, one from Desert Storm / Desert Shield and another who served at Quantico. Together, they kept close watch on the Hechler brothers.
