Riga, Latvia- Members of the Michigan Air National Guard pass the official viewing party during the Latvian Independence Day Military Parade through downtown Riga, Latvia on Monday November 18th, 2019. The parade featured dozens allied nation participants, including Four members of the Michigan air national guard, representing the United States. For 26 years, Latvia has been partnered with the State of Michigan in the National Guard’s State Partnership Program. The State Partnership Program has been successfully building relationships for 25 years and now includes 75 partnerships with 81 nations around the globe. the State Partnership Program links state National Guard units with the armed forces, or equivalent, of a partner country in a cooperative, mutually beneficial relationship.
